Old Cross Pendant Pearls Garnets on Crocheted Black Silk Chain, Long Mixed Media Chain and Pendant

A rich, complex mixture of materials-beads of mixed materials-pulled together with a black silk crocheted chain. An old Cross Pendant with a bail hanger of tiny garnets hangs from this unique long chain. Pearls and beads of gems, pearls and bone beads. A versatile piece that can be worn with or without the pendant, can be worn clustered, cascading, as a belt or lariat, and wound round the wrist as a luxurious cuff.

The long 84" chain captures gems, pearls, stones and bones to become a new original that can be worn so many different ways. The cross shaped medallion carved from antiqued, embellished bone, hangs from a silk loop covered with tiny purple garnets. A dark garnet teardrop with oxidized silver wire-wrap dangles with the cross. The pendant can be moved or even removed for total versatility.

Deep reddish purple pearls (eggplant) in both round and a larger baroque shape set the tone here, and are joined by more pearls in bronze and peacock finished purple. The complementary color in shades of greenish yellow, joins this gathering in mother of pearl disks, jade beads and large petal-shaped keishi pearls. Small carved bone, black tourmaline beads, and dark wood disks add punctuation. Add a sprinkling of carved bone spirals for the finishing touch and ever so subtle faceted lemon quartz gemstone ovals add a bit of sparkle.

A chain 84" long can be worn in clustered or cascading loops as a necklace, wound around the wrist for a rich cuff, or even used as a lariat or a belt--your imagination is the only limit. My original design closes with a small oxidized silver spring clasp and jump ring which allows a snug fit if desired, creates a chain that can even be worn as a choker, or makes a large continuous loop to use as a wrap or lariat. The pendant can be removed or slid to where ever it works best for you.

An Om disk, as is seen in some of my other silk chain pendants, can be substituted for the cross if you wish, just add a note in the “notes to seller” when checking out. The Om pendant will also be suspended with a garnet covered loop if used with this silk chain.

The black silk is heavy gauge beading silk, made in America, and this crocheted chain is easily hand washable. I recommend cool water with a bit of mild soap, then rinse and hang with a bit of weight to dry.
