Beautiful Bold Beaded Bib Necklace, Unique Quartz Lentil Beads and a Special Sterling Silver Beaded Chain, WillOaksStudio Original Necklace

Colorful but understated; bold yet classy, and completely unique these amazing natural quartz lentils with hematite inclusions are each about 3/4" in diameter. They lay against the neck or the chest perfectly and drape beautifully. Flanked by a "special chain" of oxidized silver beads that have been selectively buffed to create a lovely play of dark and light which adjusts from 16 3/4" to 18 1/2" long, closing with a sterling lobster claw and a hearted extension chain. A final labradorite rondelle dangles from the end of the extender.

This quartz includes a mineral form of iron oxide called hematite, which comes in a variety of different color variations depending on conditions of its formation (see Wikipedia for more info on this fascinating stone.) It was popular in jewelry during Victorian times, and has seen a modern resurgence. Various iron oxides create fascinating spots and threads of different colors within these translucent stones. This is hard stone and has a fine shiny polish.
