Radiant Orchid Freshwater Pearl Brooch, Artisan Shawl Pin in Oxidized Silver and Pearls, Rustic Filigree Metalwork, Elegant Gift for Her

A bright, sophisticated purple-pink collection of freshwater pearls is the highlight of my little jewelry brooch with features a "rustic filigree" design. The pin is 2 1/2" wide and 1" tall (63 mm x 25 mm) and incorporates 7 bright pearls that are 4-5 mm each. The one of a kind design has been oxidized and polished for an antique silver finish. An artistic accessory created to add a sweet detail with flair to business or casual attire.

The pin form is formed and forged from heavy gauge silver-filled wire. Finer sterling silver wire and handmade head pins are used to wrap and bind the pearls to this form. A larger hand formed spiral is the final flourish and the pin clasp. The contrast of the bright pearls and the darker, textured silver is very eye catching.

Silver-filled wire, similar to gold filled wire, is a tube of precious metal with a core of jeweler's brass. Much more durable than plated or colored wire, silver filled can be formed, forged, filed, tumbled, oxidized and buffed and will still retain the look and durability of solid silver at lower cost.

Photos have been made with a macro lens so might give the impression this piece is larger--it was created to be medium to large sized. For size reference, in the last photo, my signature gift box is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (about 90 mm x 90 mm.)
